Your path to the field starts with good questions

Prepare for auditions

Choose a section, read the corps’ current audition packet, and check dates, locations, age eligibility, video options, and callback requirements. Brass, battery, front ensemble, color guard, and conducting opportunities vary by organization.

Understand the full cost

Ask for a written breakdown of tuition, audition fees, deposits, camp travel, equipment, and other required purchases. Check payment dates, scholarship options, fundraising expectations, and refund terms directly with the corps.

Plan with your family

Discuss school and work commitments, transportation, housing, meals, laundry, medical support, accessibility, and family communication. Current written policies are more useful than assumptions based on another member’s past season.

The stories behind the uniforms

Drum corps history lives in more than championship results. Founders, parish groups, veterans organizations, neighborhood supporters, instructors, volunteers, and generations of members helped shape the activity. The archive brings those stories together with clear sources and dates.

Profiles examine founding names, hometown roots, organizational changes, competitive milestones, and the traditions that endure across seasons. Where a founder’s identity or an early date remains unverified, we identify the research gap rather than fill it with a guess.

Understand drum corps

A drum and bugle corps combines brass, percussion, color guard, movement, and visual design in a coordinated production. Touring ensembles rehearse and perform throughout a season, while the wider activity also includes all-age organizations, alumni groups, and different competitive traditions. Each organization sets its own participation process and commitments.

Watch. Listen. Discover.

Explore performances, rehearsal features, battery lots, and member stories through official corps channels. Video features in the archive identify their source; any view count is a dated snapshot, because audiences and totals change.

About DrumCorps.net

DrumCorps.net is an independent directory and developing history archive for drum corps. Our aim is to make organizational history and practical participation information easier to find in one place, with enough depth to serve curious newcomers and longtime followers.

Profiles connect readers to official corps websites, public business contacts, audition pages, schedules, employment information, and original sources. The archive is being built one researched profile at a time; inclusion does not imply endorsement or affiliation with a corps or governing organization.

Sources, updates & corrections

Season details change. Check each profile’s verification date and follow its official links before registering, paying fees, traveling, or shipping packages. Historical accounts distinguish documented milestones from unanswered questions. Current contact details should be confirmed on the organization’s own website.

For auditions, membership, employment, donations, and time-sensitive questions, contact the relevant corps directly. The public contact directory on each completed profile points you toward the organization responsible for those decisions.
